Not quite “Drunk History,” NoDa Drinks and Thinks is a great way to stretch your thinking muscles in the comfort a neighborhood bar. The event is part of a series to help bring back the lost arts of conversation and dialogue. Salon-style discussions take place in a casual environment and promote creative thoughts and knowledge-sharing. It’s kind of like watching a really cool documentary on TV – only you’re in it. And there’s a bar!
Did you know that Charlotte is making plans to have a ‘smart district,’ which will integrate data and ‘smart’ technologies into economic development? And it’s planned to be in Lockwood, a neighborhood just on the other side of Tryon from us. To start to understand what this will mean for the local residents, we’d like to invite you to hear from two speakers who know a lot about Lockwood and Charlotte more generally, and how they have changed and continue to change.
Charlotte Historian Tom Hanchett will talk about the history of the Lockwood neighborhood, while Community Dream Builder’s founder Christopher Dennis will discuss the recent changes in the Lockwood neighborhood and his work to help improve his community.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
